What's new?

Adswood Workshop

On Friday we did a fun workshop at Adswood Youth Centre. In keeping with the theme of supporting young people to eat healthily, we made still life photos from fruit and vegetables we bought from Stockport Market, and cyanotype prints from flowers found in the garden. The young people were so engaged in learning how to manoeuvre a camera and in setting up their still life arrangements.

To see all of the photos, visit our Flickr here.

Youth Culture Exhibition

On Saturday we put on an exhibition at Merseyway Workshop, of the work of over 80 young people who have taken part in our workshops recently.

We carefully curated some of the pieces we felt best represented the themes explored, including: Identity, Community, Expression and Nature.

The exhibition was a hit, with delicious food provided by Sticky Fingers Stockport and a great turn out.

For anyone who missed it, don’t worry; a film showcasing the event will be available soon!

New Film

Have you seen our exciting new RBH Corporate Strategy film? We worked hard to bring their vision to life, and show what RBH are really all about.

TRACO UK Film Production

The Saz Media team recently travelled to Portsmouth to produce a film for TRACO UK - fellow participants of the Impact Hub King’s Cross Assets Programme run in partnership with Wates. TRACO UK are a Social Enterprise and furniture relocation and recycling company who focus on sustainability and providing employment opportunities for disadvantaged people. The film production is a celebration of TRACO UK’s social impact and business development during the Assets Programme.

We had a great time working with TRACO UK and look forward to further solidifying our new relationship, and those with our other Social Enterprise peers - all thanks to Wates, the Impact Hub and their Assets Programme.

Impact Hub King's Cross Assets Programme

Saz Media are honoured to be a part of the Impact Hub King’s Cross Assets Programme (Assisting Social Enterprises to Succeed). This is a programme developed with Wates aimed at supporting social and ethical impact driven businesses to scale and develop through 1 - 1 mentoring, workshops, peer support groups and networking opportunities.

On the 30th November, we travelled to Impact Hub’s Kings Cross site in London for an event celebrating participation in the Assets Programme; we met our Social Enterprise peers, mentors and people invested in what our brands have to offer. As well as participating in the event, the Saz Media team documented the evening and have produced a film and a set of photographs for Wates.

The opportunities provided to us by the Assets Programme, the Impact Hub and Wates have helped Saz Media develop stronger relationships with peers and clients, improved management and upscaling business, and really helped us on the path to completing larger projects both corporate and through social impact. We look forward to the growing relationships developed with our Social Enterprise peers; we have been across the country producing films for some of the amazing businesses on the programme such as Depher, Traco and Connection Crew.

Light Painting at Adswood Young People's Centre!

On the 13th December we turned off all of the lights at Adswood Young People’s Centre to explore light painting with everyone!

Our young people learnt what camera settings are needed to capture the lights in photos, as well as worked collaboratively to decide on so many creative compositions; we tried out drawing flowers, angels and devils, hearts and tons of bright rainbow swirls - check out some of the photographs below.

Next week we will be exploring food photography, and handing out some of our Zine Boxes featuring the new 4th Issue!

Headteacher's Conference Film

We spent two days in Crewe this October documenting Headteachers from across Stockport involved in a conference, discussing the importance of wellbeing and safety for their pupils and staff. It was great to meet so many passionate educators from our local area who are committed to positive change within our education system.

It seems headteachers like to have fun too! Check out these photos of everyone playing with bubbles during the conference!
